Mike & Julie . Camelback Mountain, Arizona

When Mike and Julie asked if I would be up for photographing their engagement session at the top of Camelback Mountain in Arizona I immediately said yes.  “You’ll have to do a little hiking – are you up for that?” To which I replied, “that sounds awesome, absolutely!” I had no idea that the hike they spoke of would be an all out climb.

Mike proposed to Julie at the top of Camelback about a year ago and knowing how meaningful it was to them I gave it all I had to make it that spot where she said, “yes.” We ended our day at The Sanctuary, a boutique resort located high on the north slope of Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley.

What a beautifully fun day – thank you Mike and Julie for sharing it with me.

Downtown Columbus Engagement . Lisa & Colin

Lisa and Colin are as real as they come and absolutely genuine to the core. As a photographer, I live to find authenticity in everything and to be able to photograph that kind of bond between two people just hits you straight in the heart. I love their sense of style, humor, and laughter. Lisa and Colin – much love to you both and thank you for the magic.

Here’s a quick peek from their engagement session in downtown Columbus …

Trash or Treasure?

It’s incredibly amazing how much waste we leave on this earth.  A field once abundant with nature’s natural esthetics now packed closely with wasted metal, rubber, and glass. My recent visit to an auto salvage yard …

The American Motorcyclist . Editorial Photography

It’s been an honor and privilege working with the American Motorcyclist Association for the past couple of years photographing for their national publication.  I learn so much when doing editorial work; there’s always the challenge of lighting, locations, and shooting with the publication layout in mind but it’s a great joy nonetheless. I’ve been dying to share our latest shoot from the fall and now that the publication is out I’m able to give you all a sneak peek.

The setting was a fully restored 1930’s/40’s convenient store and gas station. When we arrived at the scene I was immediately blown away. Very fitting for our subject, which happens to be a 1940 Triumph Tiger 100.

Here are a couple of images from the day and tear sheets from the magazine.  The motorcross bike was shot on a farm with parts of the land converted to dirt tracks, super cool.  Thanks AMA for the opportunity.

Alison & Ben . Hartville, Ohio Engagement

Before we welcome 2010 there are still a few sessions from the fall that I’ve yet to share. First up … Alison and Ben.

This past fall I made a trip to Hartville, Ohio to spend some time with Alison and Ben for their engagement session.  As I arrived on location the picturesque beauty of the landscape was an immediate inspiration.  We spent the majority of our time at Ben’s parents’ home, which happens to sit on a hill overlooking the most amazing view I’ve ever seen.  We rode around in their ATV exploring acres upon acres of luscious fields and with every stop it just kept getting better and better. As the evening came to a close, the slowly drifting sun setting in the background gave us one last burst of warmth that was just simply breathtaking.

Thank you Alison and Ben for an incredibly fun day.  Here’s a brief look at a few images from their day…
